How to Read Our Snow Data Above
Snowfall amounts for 12hr (overnight), 24hr, and 48hr timeframes are based on measurements taken at 5am daily. 24hr and 48hr snow totals are cumulative, so whatever fell in the last 24 is built into the 48. Between 5pm and 5am our weather data is automatically updated based on telemetry data from Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center and represents our overnight totals. The "Since 5am" snowfall amount is based on manual measurements taken periodically throughout the day.

We are oh-so-close to being able to open! Although the snow has been accumulating, the temperatures and precipitation didn’t quite add up to our hopes and anticipation this week. While our mountain operations crew love what they see on the top half of the slopes at Summit West, the lower slopes and lift load areas just don't yet have the necessary coverage. The upside is, we do have a great base for the next round of snowfall to build upon and the snow is still coming down today. We might not be opening Summit West quite yet, but we do have a super fun event on Saturday. #UpJibCreek is for skiers and snowboarders and will be held on Julies Chair. The Summit Parks crew has been working hard to create a ton of fun features and the best pre-season jib line we've ever had. Event fee is $10 and that includes lift access on Julies for Jib Creek. Lift access is only for participants and only for the roped and maintained jib line. Helmets required.

November 16, 2017: We are oh-so-close to being able to open… Although the snow has been accumulating, the temperatures and precipitation didn’t quite add up to our hopes and anticipation this week. We had hoped for an opening this weekend. While our mountain operations crew love what they see on the top half of the slopes at Summit West, the lower slopes and lift load areas just don't yet have the necessary coverage. That said, we know it won’t be too much longer and the upside is, we do have a great base for the next round of snowfall to build upon!
